Free Encode and Decode Tools
Tools for the encodings that show up in web work: Base64 for text and files, percent-encoding for URLs and query strings, hashes of text or whole files to check a download, and a JWT decoder that shows a token’s header, claims and expiry.
Tokens, keys and the files you hash are exactly the things that should never be pasted into a website. Here they stay in your browser: the page does its work on your device, sends nothing and keeps nothing. A JWT is decoded, not verified, so it is read without its secret and never leaves your machine.
The 4 tools
- Base64 encoder Encode text or files to Base64 and decode Base64 back to text or a file.
- URL encoder Percent-encode or decode URLs and query strings in your browser.
- JWT decoder Decode a JSON Web Token to see its header, payload and expiry, check its signature with a secret or public key (RS256, ES256), and sign a changed one.
- Hash generator Get CRC32, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hashes of text or files, make HMACs, and check a download against its checksum or a SHA256SUMS file.
