SVG to PNG Converter

Convert SVG to PNG, JPG or WebP at 1x, 2x, 4x or an exact width, with a transparent background. Drop files or paste SVG code. Runs in your browser.

Size

1x is the size the SVG asks for. 2x and 4x stay sharp on high-resolution screens.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use

This tool turns SVG files into PNG, JPG or WebP pictures, sharp at any size, without uploading them.

  1. Add SVG files: drop them on the box or choose them. To convert code, copy it and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) anywhere on the page, or open Paste SVG code instead.
  2. Pick a Size. 1x is the size the SVG asks for. 2x and 4x make it two or four times larger, which stays crisp on high-resolution screens. Width sets an exact width in pixels, and the height follows the shape.
  3. Under Save as, choose PNG, JPG or WebP (Safari can't save WebP). PNG and WebP keep a Transparent background; turn it off to fill the background with a color. JPG always gets a background color.
  4. Download each picture, or Download all (.zip) for several. Open Preview under a file to check it first.

Each SVG is drawn fresh at the size you pick, not stretched from a small picture, so edges stay sharp. Sizes in millimeters, points or inches are converted at 96 pixels per inch, as browsers do. An SVG with only a viewBox is drawn at the viewBox size.

The tool draws each SVG the way a web page shows an image: scripts in it never run, and it never loads other files. If an SVG uses fonts or pictures from elsewhere, the tool tells you, because they'll be missing. Code copied from a web page often lacks the line that marks it as SVG; the tool adds it for you.

Frequently asked questions

What size will the PNG be?

At 1x, the size the SVG asks for: its width and height in pixels, or its viewBox when it has no size. 1 millimeter is about 3.78 pixels. 2x and 4x double or quadruple that. Width sets an exact width and keeps the shape.

Why is some text or a picture missing?

Text uses the fonts on your device unless the SVG embeds its fonts or turns text into outlines. Fonts and pictures that the SVG loads from other files or websites are never fetched, so they are missing. Embed them, or convert text to outlines in your design app.

Is it safe to convert an SVG from someone else?

Yes. SVG files can contain scripts, but the tool draws the SVG as a picture, the way a web page shows an image, so scripts never run and nothing is loaded from the internet. The file never leaves your device.
