Watermark PDF
Add a text or logo watermark to a PDF in your browser: any language, any colour, in the centre, a corner or across the page. Nothing is uploaded.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
How to use
This tool puts a watermark, such as "Confidential", "Draft" or your logo, on the pages of a PDF, in your browser, so the file stays on your device.
- Add a PDF: drop it on the box or choose it. If it asks for a password, type it; it's only used here.
- Under Watermark, pick Text and type it, then choose its Colour. Any language works, as it's written with your device's own fonts. Or pick Picture and choose a logo or stamp; a PNG with a transparent background looks best.
- Choose the Place: the centre, a corner, or Across the page, repeated in rows.
- Set the Size (as a share of the page's width), the Angle and the Opacity. The thumbnails show the watermark on each page as you go.
- Keep All pages, or switch to Chosen pages and click the pages you want.
- Press Add watermark, then download the PDF, named like contract-watermarked.pdf.
The watermark is placed on each page as you see it, the right way up even on turned or cropped pages, and it's stored once in the file however many pages carry it, so the PDF hardly grows. The text and pictures underneath stay sharp and searchable.
A watermark becomes part of the page, not a layer that can be switched off. It's hard to remove, but someone with a PDF editor and enough patience can. To stop a PDF being opened at all, add a password with Password Protect PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Choose Picture and pick the image. A PNG with a transparent background blends in best; a JPG keeps its own background, so lower the opacity for it.
Can someone remove the watermark?
It becomes part of each page, so it can't simply be switched off, but a determined person with a PDF editor can take it out. It marks a document; it doesn't lock it. For that, add a password.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is drawn and added in your browser, and the PDF never leaves your device.
